Some (many?) believe that college football should be played on Saturday, and Saturday only. But in recent years we’ve morphed into Thursday and Friday night games — which doesn’t play well with high school football fans — and even into Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
But Sunday?
That idea was broached by Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott, who said his league would consider it if the NFL lockout were to continue and interrupt the pro season.
But SEC commissioner Mike Slive said he wasn’t considering it.
“No, we haven’t talked about it,” Slive told Alabama Live. “We’ve got a lot of tradition. It’s the hallmark of this league. … We play on Saturday for the most part. Whether or not we would adjust, no one has said a word to me about that and certainly we’re not going to take the initiative.”
