The Bucs signed former Eagles strong safety Sean Jones as an unrestricted free agent, making him the first starting caliber acquisition of the 2010 offseason.
Jones spent one season with the Eagles playing in 15 games (nine starts), notching 61 tackles (44 solo) and two interceptions. Before Philadelphia, he played for the Cleveland Browns, starting 44 games, 286 tackles (202 solo), 14 interceptions, two forced fumbles and 30 passes defensed.
Jones gives the Bucs a legitimate in-the-box player at strong safety and has adequate enough coverage skills not to be a liability there.
