BackgroundA Syracuse, N.Y. native, Kowalewski played for his hometown Syracuse Orangemen in college. Originally a defensive end and linebacker, Kowalewski was moved to tight end for the 2002 season and finished his collegiate career with 33 catches for 441 yards and three touchdowns.
