Though his tweet was vague, a reliable source tweeted that Derek Dooley tried to convince Stephens into staying, but was unsuccessful.
According to Dooley, "He didn't want to run the risk of not playing his senior year. He's been trying to get on the field his whole career."
This means Stephens will probably end up outside of Division I football.
This pretty much leaves Matt Simms as the lone starter, with Tyler Bray in the backup role.
