Then, it got worse?
USC is having one of those off-seasons.
It seems like just yesterday that USC dominated the Pac-10 so completely that the conference was renamed the "Pac-1 plus nine other guys."
It wasn't long ago that USC was producing both Heisman Trophy winners and National Championships.
Then, the wheels began to come off.
USC missed a BCS Bowl for the first time since 2001. Worse, USC was beaten by four teams in the Pac-10.
Now, that's not terrible. After all, 9-4 isn't a horrible record. And a bowl win, even a non-BCS bowl win, is an accomplishment.
But the Trojan's problems were just beginning.
