... Gators head coach Urban Meyer will step down after the 2011 Outback Bowl.

This will be the second time he has resigned in less than a year; the first attempt came because of health reasons.

Meyer's reasoning for stepping down this time has to do with his family. He wants to work on being a better husband and a better father to his children. Meyer stated that he has not seen his daughters play high school sports and that he will never get that time back. 

Although Meyer has resigned, he will coach his final game with the Gators on January 1st for the Outback Bowl against Penn State in Tampa, Florida.
