"In the fourth quarter, we didn't execute as well, but a little bit of — we ran more of our kill-the-clock offense and didn't show as much," Rodriguez said. "We still were trying to score, but the execution wasn't quite as sharp."
Rodriguez also made clear at his Monday presser that he adopted this strategy, in part, to not tip his offensive hand to Notre Dame. "I think they saw quite a bit in the first half anyway, but there was no need to show anything special or anything like that at the end of the game," Rodriguez said.
