... by its leadership and toughness.  Two characteristics that Captain linebacker Scott Lutrus brings to the table game in and game out.  After red shirting in 2006, Lutrus has started and played in every game the last two seasons.  This seasons success will rest heavily on the play of Lutrus and his teammates.

Lutrus has been a force in the Huskies defensive scheme for the past two seasons.  In 2007 he was named to the freshman All-American team.  In 2007, he recorded the third highest total with 107 tackles, 62 which were solo.  The highlight of this season was against Louisville where he recorded a career high 19 tackles.
