This isn't a surprise. A four-star prospect out of Florida, Giles was a speedy player who the coaches felt had the potential to be very good.
He fell into the coaches' doghouse last year after showing a bit too much juke and a too little burst.
Now, as Marcus Lattimore emerges as one of the best backs in the SEC, there is much less to go around.
Giles is currently third on the depth chart behind the star Lattimore and last year's starter Kenny Miles. Brian Maddox, the current starter at fullback, gets carries as a running back as well.
