The Hokies proceeded to drop completely out of the top 25 with an embarrassing loss to James Madison while the Cardinal rose to the top 10. The Hokies fought their way into back to prominence and secured a flawless ACC record and a conference championship while Stanford’s loss to Oregon kept them from getting any higher than fourth in the BCS.
