... the fourth week of the college football season and there has been no shortage of surprises. The non-conference schedule is finishing up and the conference seasons are beginning.

This is the time of year where the pretenders are separated from the contenders. Every BCS conference but the ACC, with two teams, has three or more undefeated teams so far.

The SEC has six undefeated teams, the Big Ten has five, the Big 12 has four and the Big East and Pac-10 each have three unblemished teams.
