... wasn’t one of my better days.  Just leaving my three o’clock journalism class, the walk down State Street towards Michigan football practice was filled with anticipation. Head Coach Bo Schembechler had recently closed practice, claiming that an Ohio State photographer was seen filming from an apartment across the street.

My instincts told me that journalists, especially at a state supported university, could not be prevented for doing their job by the juvenile behavior of a hot-headed football coach.   We assumed that we were protected by the first amendment of the United States Constitution.
