Norman is one of Michigan State's best young players and one of the reasons the Spartans are changing their entire defensive scheme even if he is a bit unknown.
For years the Spartans have built their defense on the 4-3 scheme, meaning there are four down linemen and three linebackers, but with the rise of young players like Norman and the arrival of new, highly-touted linebackers Bullough and Gholston, the defensive scheme is shifting.
In a Big Ten interview, Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio said that in some packages his team would be utilizing the 3-4 defense. This would mean that the Spartans sub-par defensive line would be given a bit of a break as the four linebackers are let loose on the play...
