Following the Rather Hall brawl last season, and the suspension of several Spartan starting receivers, Michigan State went into the Alamo Bowl with more questions then answers at wideout.
The featured wideouts for the bowl game were Blair White, little-known Keshawn Martin, and converted quarterback Keith Nichol. Not exactly an imposing lineup in the least. White was well-known by Spartan fans and posted big numbers during the game, as expected, but the biggest surprise was Martin.
