This is due primarily to the fact that I have written a couple of articles suggesting that USC may take a small step back this year and that Notre Dame has a chance to beat them. That is due to the fact that Notre Dame has a really good team this year and USC has lost a lot of players.

How that means that I don't respect what USC has is beyond me. I understand that they are deep at every position and they have been down that road before. Yet they continue to be strong.

That is true to a degree, but don't tell me that they were just as good with John David Booty and company as they were with Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, and Lendale White. They did take a tiny step back but were right back the year after....
