Appleton, a highly recruited wideout from East St. Louis, IL, was the only one of the three players who saw playing time last season. He finished the season with three catches for 26 yards.
He was, however, expected to see more playing time next year, as there is uncertainty about who Wisconsin’s reserve wideouts will be. His suspension could hurt the Badger offense if he isn’t reinstated by the time the season begins.
