Johnson came into Sunday's race second in points to Denny Hamlin, but ran extremely well all race long, and finished ahead of both Hamlin and third place finisher Kevin Harvick. The second place finish was enough to drive Johnson to an unprecedented fifth straight title.
Hamlin battled his car all day long, and finished 14th, while a speeding violation heading into the pits on Lap 80 sent Harvick back to 29th place, a position he couldn't overcome.
