The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, perennial favorites in the "good, but not great" sweepstakes, came up painfully short against the very best of competition too often to be considered unlucky.
Eighteen straight games at home against top-5 opponents the Jackets either lost or tied, a streak dating back to 1964.
That streak no longer need apply.
Anyone who might have doubted Georgia Tech's ACC title credentials surely cannot doubt them now.
Facing what was the consensus best team in the ACC, and also the No. 4 team in all college football, Georgia Tech ran its "gimmick" option offense, controlled the flow of play and put away visiting Virginia Tech to insert itself back into the ACC Coastal race.
