NC State came up with a solid Thursday night win over Cincinnati, Florida State crushed BYU, and Virginia Tech avoided an 0-3 start by defeating East Carolina.

Clemson had a chance at a marquee win at Auburn, but squandered a 17-0 first half lead. That one really hurt.
