We saw great defenses in 2009 from TCU to Alabama to Florida to even Nebraska. There were great defensive battles all season long. It just figures the team with, arguably, one of the best defenses in the country hoists the national championship trophy at season's end.
To me, there's nothing better than a defensive battle. It's almost like a game of chess. One team makes their move and the other team makes theirs.
