Alabama has won an SEC title in every decade since the inception of the conference.
In what was billed as a Heisman showdown, it was Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy who stole the show. McElroy started the game flawlessly and ended it in similar fashion, finishing 12-of-18 passing for 239 yards and a touchdown. But the Texas native hit open receivers and made spectacular reads the entire night against the top-ranked Gators' defense.
