The Bulls received devastating news on Sunday when they learned that the injury to senior Matt Grothe was a torn anterior cruciate ligament, the dreaded ACL.
Grothe, the all-time leader in Big East offensive yardage, is done for the season.
Daniels, who played the final three minutes of the first half and the entire second half of his team's 59-0 rout of Charleston Southern, is now "the guy."
After Saturday's win, USF coach Jim Leavitt said he would have gladly given up the victory to have not lost Grothe.
