2011 NFL Mock Draft Gives Texans Versatile Pass Rusher in Quinn
2011 NFL Mock Draft Pick No. 11: Robert Quinn, North Carolina, DE/OLB
When it comes to the Houston Texans, defense was their Achilles heel last year.
Despite being blessed with the league’s leading rusher in Arian Foster, one of the best receivers in the game in Andre Johnson and a strong-armed quarterback in Matt Schaub, the Texans were completely out of sorts on the opposite side of the football.
Last season they were the worst in the league in passing yards allowed and were among the worst when it came to sacks and interceptions. As much as the Texans could use a cornerback like Amukamara, the team can easily help their current core of young corners by simply adding pass-rushing help with this pick.
And Robert Quinn’s natural raw abilities make him a very versatile player to move around in Wade Phillips’ defense. Quinn, who has been receiving DeMarcus Ware comparisons, could easily be a stud linebacker for this Texans team hungry for an elite defender.
