There have been six different Super Bowl champions in the last six years. Twenty-eight teams in total have made a Super Bowl—two of the teams that haven't (Jacksonville and Houston) joined the league in 1995 and 2002, respectively.
Compare that to the NBA, where the Lakers and Celtics have combined to win over half of the NBA championships. In the last 27 years only eight different teams have walked away with the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
