Baltimore was once very enthusiastic about Gaither’s play.
That enthusiasm died down after last season. It no longer seems as if the team views Gaither as the long-term replacement for the 11-time Pro Bowl tackle Jonathan Ogden.
Ogden retired after the 2007 season and Gaither did not seem to progress as the team had hoped. On the other hand, Michael Oher, had a great rookie season.
During off-season workouts, the Ravens used Oher as a left tackle, moving Gaither to the right.
