Narcolepsy is commonly undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. The most common symptom of narcolepsy is excessive sleepiness, which can be diagnosed in many ways. Without really studying a person's sleep habits, narcolepsy can be diagnosed as sleep apnea, sleep-deprivation, depression or epilepsy.
