Should Brett Favre Retire, Tarvaris Jackson Is Ready to QB the Minnesota Vikings

... means he really should finally retire from the National Football League (yeah, right), quarterback Tarvaris Jackson will be ready. Tarvaris signed his one-year, $1.176 million contract tender today, ensuring that he will be Brett's backup again in 2010.

Of course, the Vikes could add a rookie QB to the mix in this week's NFL Draft, but I don't see anyone, under any circumstances, jumping ahead of TJack on the depth chart.

The numbers haven't been that impressive—33 games, 21 TD passes, 18 INTs, and a career QB rating of 77.9. But Tarvaris has shown improvement—albeit slow improvement—to warrant the team's continued interest.
