The university is restricted by privacy laws from releasing the reason for the one-year suspension. Because the NCAA instituted the penalty, Green cannot be allowed to take the season as a redshirt year. He is allowed to continue practicing with his team.
The infraction committed by Green is not considered an institutional infraction by the NCAA. Therefore, the football program will not suffer any repercussions.
