Mortensen tweeted the following on Friday afternoon, "Pete Carroll is the guy Seahawks are targeting. Expected to happen."
Obviously, this is potentially huge news for college football nationwide.
Pete Carroll has been one of the best college coaches in America for a decade now after his first couple of stints in the NFL did not work out to well.
If this happens as expected, who will fill Carroll's shoes?
The obvious names are Steve Sarkisian and Lane Kiffin if for nothing more than their recent history with the Trojans.
The Trojans brass is also said to be enamored with Oregon State's Mike Reilly.
