The basic criteria I tried to use is this: the following guys are the best players on defense right now. If a player was great in the recent past but has been undone by injuries (Bob Sanders, Albert Haynesworth) or just declined because of old age (Jason Taylor, Brian Dawkins), he’s not gonna make the list.
